Things to Do

We are ideally situated for either a relaxing or touring holiday, the hotel is within reach of many places of interest and leisure facilities.

Walking and Climbing
The area surrounding Laggan has numerous walks and climbs including the Corrieyairack Pass which was maintained as a military road throughout the 18th century until it was handed over to the Commission for Highland Roads and Bridges in 1814. Today, the Corrieyairack Pass is popular with hillwalkers and provided access for farmers, deer stalkers and also the electricity workers who maintain the power line running between Fort Augustus and Rannoch Moor. Other walks include the Allt Mhoraich Walk which is 5.5kms and takes approximately two hours; Falls of Pattack which is 4kms one way and has a fairly steep gradient in some places; there is a lovely Riverside Walk which follows the River Spey and takes just over one hour. We can provide information on the walks in the area, so please don't hesitate to ask us.

Fishing
On many hill lochs, rivers and miles of the legendary River Spey for Trout, Sea Trout, Salmon and Pike. The season runs from mid March to end September.
All fishing permits, boat lets plus local/seasonal permits now obtainable from hotel. Fishing tackle available for rent and purchase from the hotel.

Pony Trekking
The Haflinger trekking centre is situated locally.

Skiing
Ideally situated midway between Aviemore and Aonach Mhor (both only 30 minutes).

Bird watching
Eagle, Osprey, Grouse, Capercaille to name but a few. (Guided tours can be arranged). 

Fort William - Outdoor Capital of the UK
We are located less than 30 minutes away from the Outdoor Capital of the UK - Fort William.
